overview

The project consists of two newly built secondary schools, one of which is on a new 'green-field' site, and four part new-build, part refurbished secondary schools ranging in size from 600 to 1,300 pupils, delivering educational facilities to over 5,800 pupils across Kent.

key successes

We were heavily involved in the design of the school, from working with the architects on flexible learning spaces through to the correct dimensions for the kitchen.

Reducing the amount of energy used in the school was also an important part of the design, such as sensory lights in the toilets through to ensuring enough recycling bins are located around the school. The project has not reached construction completion, with only one school complete. When it does we'll make sure the recycling initiatives are rolled out across the schools as well as our energy management reporting.
